Privacy policy

This policy describes the Nabbin app and these support pages. For privacy questions, email [email protected].

Clips and local processing

Nabbin stores the text, links, images, sections, favorites, and related metadata you save on your device. On iPhone and iPad, the app and its extensions share this library through an Apple App Group. The native Mac app stores its own local library in its sandbox. Nabbin does not send your clipboard library to a developer-operated server.

On iPhone and iPad, clipboard capture occurs when you use the app, keyboard, Share sheet, or Shortcuts, subject to your settings and iOS permissions. The iOS app does not continuously read the clipboard in the background. The optional clipboard keyboard does not collect typed keystrokes.

On Mac, optional clipboard recording checks for copied content while Nabbin is running, including when its window is closed. You can pause recording and exclude apps in Settings. Nabbin skips supported password-manager apps and clipboard items marked sensitive, but these checks cannot recognize every sensitive item. Manual saving reads the clipboard when you request it. The Mac app does not record typed keystrokes.

On iPhone and iPad, image text recognition runs on your device. Recognized text and website-preview results are cached locally. Widgets show collection names and counts rather than clip bodies.

Optional iCloud sync

If you enable sync, Nabbin stores a copy of your saved library in your Apple Account's private iCloud database using CloudKit. Sync runs while the main app is open. Apple provides this service under its own terms and privacy policy. Your library is not shared with other family members through a Family subscription.

Encrypted backups on iPhone and iPad

You can export an encrypted library snapshot to a location you choose in Files. Encryption keys are stored in Apple Keychain and may synchronize through iCloud Passwords & Keychain independently of Nabbin's library-sync setting. Keys are not included in the exported file or sent to the developer. The storage provider you choose handles the exported file under its own policies.

Website previews

Loading a website preview contacts the linked website and may contact resources used by that website. Those services can receive ordinary network information, such as your IP address and requested URL. Automatic previews are off by default. External websites apply their own privacy policies.

Purchases

Apple processes purchases and payments. Nabbin uses verified App Store transaction information, including the product, purchase and expiration status, and Family Sharing ownership, to determine access. Access status is shared locally with Nabbin's extensions. Nabbin does not receive your full payment-card information.

Advertising and analytics

Nabbin does not include advertising or analytics SDKs and does not sell your clipboard content. Apple may provide developers with App Store reports or diagnostics under your Apple settings and Apple's policies; these are separate from Nabbin's clipboard library.

Contacting support

If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond, investigate the issue, and maintain relevant support records. Gmail processes these messages. Please avoid sending sensitive clips, passwords, or backup archives.

Support correspondence is kept while needed to handle your request and related follow-up, or meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. You can request deletion by contacting the same address.

Retention and deletion

Clips remain in your library until you delete them. Recently Deleted retains clips until you permanently delete them. When sync is enabled, deletion changes synchronize to your other devices when the app runs. Turning sync off does not erase existing cloud copies. Uninstalling the app can remove local data but does not necessarily remove iCloud copies, Keychain keys, or exported backups.

Delete separately exported backups from their storage locations. We do not have a developer-side copy of your private clipboard library to retrieve or erase on your behalf.

These support pages

These pages do not include analytics scripts, advertising, account registration, or a contact form. This site is hosted on our NAS and delivered through Cloudflare. The hosting and network providers may process ordinary request information, including IP address, browser details, and requested pages, to deliver and protect the website. Selecting an email link opens your email app; no message is sent until you send it.
